Jogging in Charlottenburg
How would you like to go for a pre-breakfast jog through green surroundings, yet right at the heart of Berlin? Thanks to the unique location of our hotel, this is exactly what you can do, starting at the hotel and then jogging through the parks alongside the River Spree, over the Palace Bridge in the Charlottenburg Palace Grounds and back.
We have selected two jogging routes for you. Depending on your mood, you can choose between a 3.6km jog or go the whole 5.2km:
The Romanticism Route (3.6km)
This 'short route' takes you from the hotel doorstep through the parks opposite the hotel and onto the banks of the River Spree, before leading you over the Palace Bridge to the north-west entrance of the Charlottenburg Palace Grounds. Enjoy the calm and peaceful setting as you jog past impressive buildings and landmarks in the Palace Grounds such as the Schinkel Pavilion, the Gothic Fishing House or the dreamy Belvedere Tea House.
The Princes Route (5.2km)
This 'princely route' also takes you directly from the hotel doorstep through the parks opposite the hotel and onto the banks of the River Spree, before leading you into the Charlottenburg Palace Grounds. On this route, however, you turn right after the Tea House, jog past the Obelisk and then head through the forest and up the artificial hill (which was made from post-war rubble). Then make a wide arc over the Schleusen¬brücke (Lock Bridge), run along the banks of the lake to the Feldwegbrücke bridge, which was built in the 18th century, and continue past the Palace terraces and the carp pond until you reach the Palace itself. Once you have made it to the Palace, enjoy the view before heading back to the hotel to enjoy an ample breakfast.
