AMBER HOTELS is a hotel chain (founded in 1997) with its headquarters in Hilden near Düsseldorf. All in all the Group includes six hotels within the mid- to upper-class segment.
The hotels, located exclusively in Germany, offer comfort, quality and reasonable prices for holiday-makers, business travellers and trade fair visitors. Many of the hotels, with great transport connections, have a modern conferencing area and an attractive culinary offering. The AMBER HOTEL Group’s objective is to establish itself further within the German market and to acquire national and regional renown.
AMBER HOTELS operates 4-star and 3-star Superior hotels in Germany.
Brands & Hotels
The AMBER HOTEL Group, with its head offices in Hilden is managed by managing director Robert Jan Derckx. With more than 40 years of experience within the hotel industry, managing director Robert Jan Derckx has extensive expertise and invaluable industry knowledge. After studying at the Maastricht Hotel Management School and having held various posts within the gastronomic and hotel industries, Derckx was the marketing and sales director at the Dorint hotel group for more than 10 years. Here he made a significant contribution to the development of the hotel chain. Then, as regional director, he managed 15 Dorint hotels in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
Since the beginning of the 1990s Derckx has managed hotels in Germany for various investors. Until 2006 this also included hotels in the USA. In order to be able to position the businesses more strongly on the market, in 1997 the companies merged to form AMBER HOTELS. Management is focussed within the German market.
Three private investors hold shares in AMBER HOTELS. At the beginning of 2009 one of the investors acquired the majority share in Juwel Touristik GmbH. AMBER concluded an agency agreement with Juwel Touristik GmbH.
